First oil change

After our camping trip, I finally need to do my first oil change.  The last oil change on the SUV was from the dealer.  I probably put about 7000+ miles before I switched to use my mechanic, that's me. 

I got 2 @ 5 quarts bottles of Mobil 1 0w-20.  I used about 8.5 quarts.

I'm a synthetic person.  Only use Synthetic oil on all my vehicle.

The oil change steps on this Sequoia is a bit harder.  I need to remove the skid plate to get access to the oil filter housing.  This is not the regular oil filter that I mostly used (known as cartridge oil filter).  I need to drain the engine oil from the oil filter housing.  Then, I need to remove the filter canister and replaced with OEM Toyota filter element.  In additional, I need to replace the rubber o'rings on the canister and drain plug. 

I only use OEM filter.  From eBay, you can purchase a full box of 10 filters for short change.  All filters come with all the hardware required.  In additional, I need to purchase a oil filter socket.  Toyota used a special oil filter canister with special notch socket. I brought my socket from eBay. 

From all the steps, the oil change will take about 1 - 1.5 hrs.  I usually let it drain a little longer to ensure all dirty oil removed from the engine.

As usual, after oil change, I powered wash and clean the engine bay.  The engine bay is dusty from the 5000 miles camping trip.  I also powered washed the car undercarriage.
