ARB Deluxe Bars Bumper + Warn Zeon Platinum 10-S Installation

All installation is performed over 1 or 2 months period.  I have an open air garage (no garage).  So, all installation need to be done during day time.  Weather also another factor for the long installation span.  The winter has been brutal in our area.  We got snowstorm till mid April. Before installation start, there are a few prep work can be done.  I have done the following task before bumper installation.   Prep winch for installation to the bumper. Bumper pre-prep tasks before installation to the Sequoia.   Winch Prep (Warn Zeon Platinum 10-S) The winch I choose for this installation is Warn Zeon Platinum 10S.  This is a winch rated as 10,000lbs pull capability.  If you are looking for the specification of the winch, you can find it at the following link.   https://www.warn.com/truck/winches/ZEON_10-S_Pltnm.jsp In additional to the winch, you will need the following parts. ...

Transformation for the Sequoia is coming !!!!!

I have decided to start modify the Toyota Sequoia for overlanding purpose, maybe a hybrid and still maintain towing of trailer (popup or travel).

For the transformation, I'm thinking to take my Toyota Sequoia for a offroad travel for future trip such as

  1. Alaska.  Fairbanks to Prudhoe bay AK.  This is the quest to travel to the most northern part and crossing the Arctic Circle.  This is the famous 414 miles Dalton Hwy.
  2. Colorado/Utah.  4WD overlanding over the rocky mountain.
  3. Labrador.  Travelling Trans-labrador Highway from Quebec to Labrador.  The only way to travel to Labrador via highway/road.  This is a dirt road with some section being paved.  There are ferry service at Labrador and Newfoundland.
  4. Quebec.  Closest travel by land to Nunavut.
  5. Baja.  Maybe someday, I will head south into Mexico.

The transformation will be in stages over next 2 years.  For this year, I have started the acquired the following upgrades.

  • Roof Top Racks - Choosing FrontRunner outfitter rack setup.
  • Suspension upgrade - Bilstein 5100 shock and strut.
  • Tires/Wheel - 20" BF-Goodrich AT KO2.  275/55/20.  Keeping wheel stock for now.
For 2017, I will try to continue the upgrade for
  • Roof Top Tent
  • Jacks, Shovel, Axe, & etc tools.
  • Air Compressor
  • Wheels/Tires - TBD
For 2018, I will try to continue the upgrade for
  • Offroad trailer
  • TBD

I will continue to update as the progress available.
